The medical educational ecosystem in Romania marks an absolute first. Starting from February 17, 2026, resident doctors have access to Grile-Specialitate.ro, the first complex digital tool exclusively dedicated to preparing for the Specialty Exam. The launch comes at a critical time for the health system, marked by the announcement of structural changes to the exam – the move to unique subjects at the national level – and an acute lack of detailed official information.
The platform, developed by the Romanian company Marsilian (known for the standard imposed by Grile-Rezidentiat.ro), promises to provide predictability and structure in a year dominated by uncertainty. To support the medical community, access will be free and unlimited until March 15, 2026.
Context: An acute need for organization in the face of uncertainty
Preliminary analysis by the development team, based on feedback from hundreds of medical residents, reveals a worrying state of affairs. On the threshold of the exam that will define their career, most doctors base their training on unofficial information, rumors from hospitals or social media groups, in the absence of clear specifications from the competent institutions (Ministry of Health, UMFs) regarding the exact format (grid or summary) or the final bibliography.
This “information fog” generates deep anxiety among young doctors, who fear that they will not know what to prioritize. Grile-Specialitate.ro intervenes precisely here, offering an anchor of stability. Regardless of whether the final format will be grid or editorial, the platform makes available the logically structured material, offering the only valid certainty: mastery of medical information.
Technology for the “busy generation”: Micro-learning and Visualization
If the training for Residency benefits from months dedicated exclusively to study, the reality of the budding specialist doctor, or dentist or pharmacist, is radically different. The user profile is that of a professional over 30 years old, integrated into the work field, sometimes with exhausting guards and often with major family responsibilities (children, dependent parents). Study time was compressed from 8 hours a day to 15-30 minute “windows” between patients or late at night.
Responding to this need for extreme efficiency, the platform innovates by shifting its focus from simple testing to accelerated and visual learning:
- Smart Mindmaps and Summaries: The platform works as an interactive digital library. Users have access to information maps (mindmaps) that visually schematize the bushy matter. They are essential for quickly understanding diagnostic and treatment algorithms, eliminating the need to re-read voluminous treatises in full for every detail.
- Full summaries: Chapters in the bibliography (for all specialties) are condensed into summaries that capture the essentials, allowing for quick recapitulation during downtime.
- Flashcards for active learning: A vital tool for combating the forgetting curve, specific to tired professionals. The spaced repetition system helps in long-term data fixation.
- Validated grids and explanations: Exam simulations remain an important component, but their value is doubled by the educational component. Each answer is accompanied by clear, editorially verified arguments, turning any mistake into a logical learning opportunity.
A logistical challenge: 58 specialties, 58 bibliographies
The complexity of the project exceeds any other similar initiative in Romania. Unlike the Residency competition, which has a unique theme, the specialty exam involves managing approximately 58 distinct fields, each with its own specifics. Hundreds of thousands of pages of information.
“The challenge is immense. If for residency you have a unitary theme, the specialty exam is a collection of distinct universes. Grile-Specialitate.ro is, in essence, a project on the scale of dozens of platforms in one. Our philosophy is that, no matter how the examination methodology changes, medicine remains the same. We offer the tool by which the doctor structures his mind and matter”. he stated Dr. Mihai VoineaMarsilian co-founder.
At the time of launch, the platform fully or partially covers more than 30 medical specialties, with the rest to be progressively integrated.
Medical crowdsourcing: Call for collaboration
In an effort of transparency and professional collaboration, the developers of the platform launch a call to the medical community. Physicians, dentists, and pharmacists whose specialties are not yet covered are invited to contribute bibliographic materials for content creation.
This participatory model turns users into active partners of the platform. Those who contribute to the development of the database receive Premium access in return, ensuring that no specialty is left behind. Also, continuous user feedback is the main mechanism by which the platform adapts to the dynamic realities of official bibliographies.
About access and availability
Platform Grile-Specialitate.ro becomes active on February 17, 2026. To enable all physicians to discover the utility of the new visual and synthetic learning tools, access will be free in the first month.
Until March 15, 2026any account created benefits from full Premium functionality. Afterwards, doctors will be able to opt for flexible subscriptions or ‘Up to the Exam’ packages, with a limited free version also available to ensure continuity of training.
The launch of Grile-Specialitate.ro completes the educational ecosystem developed by Marsilian (along with Grile-Admitere.ro and Grile-Rezidentiat.ro), offering for the first time in Romania a complete digital path of medical training, from entering the faculty to obtaining the title of specialist doctor.
