“Happy birthday to France and the French people on the occasion of the National Day! Our Strategic Partnership is more solid than ever, and our cooperation continues its upward and dynamic trend! We stay together for the peace, security and prosperity of Europe! Happy 14th of July!“, President Klaus Iohannis wrote on X.
Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu conveyed, on this occasion, that both states share the same democratic values.
“Romania and France share the same democratic values, based on the ideas of freedom, equality, fraternity. Today, on France Day, I congratulate the French people and wish them to keep these values alive in the centuries to come. Long live the Romanian-French friendship! Long live France!“, wrote Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, PSD leader, in a post on his Facebook page.
And the president of the Senate, the leader of the PNL, Nicolae Ciucă, stated, on the occasion of the National Day of France, that the country “he has always been our friend and ally”.
“France has always been our friend and ally, but also a source of authentic European civilization. Ever since the Paşopist generation, the social and institutional westernization of the Romanian people has had French culture and society as its model. And today, France is a trusted ally of Romania, with plans to increase the capacity of our country’s troops – which are due to reach division level by 2027. There is an overtime arc that begins just over a hundred years ago years, when General Henri Berthelot was modernizing the Romanian army. As then, and now we are going through a turbulent period, with threats and challenges, and the security offered by the French troops under the NATO banner is essential for the stability of Romania”, wrote Nicolae Ciucă on his Facebook page.
The liberal leader stated that the ideals of the French Revolution of 1789 are today European realities that must be defended.
“On the occasion of France’s National Day, I wish all French citizens to enjoy and be proud of their country. The ideals of the French Revolution of 1789 are today European realities, which we must defend against the enemies of freedom, equality and fraternity. Live in France!“, concluded Nicolae Ciucă.
