“Don’t get it wrong. Reclassification or reorganization of hospitals does not mean closing them. It means reclassification on other levels. (…) Category I hospitals, category II hospitals, category III hospitals and that’s it. Now we have five categories. (…) Deadline – until the end of this year”, Rogobete pointed out, after participating in the Health Innovation Forum, with the theme “Pharmaceutical innovation: engine of competitiveness – Romania in dialogue with Europe, for better access of Romanian patients to innovative therapies”organized by the Romanian Association of International Medicines Manufacturers, writes Agerpres.

He recalled that three weeks ago the procedure for the reorganization of the health units and their reclassification was started.

“A new category of hospital has appeared in the Official Gazette – namely strategic hospitals. The evaluation has begun at the level of all health units, and those that meet these criteria will be included in strategic hospitals. (…) It is aberrant that in the year 2025 hospitals will be organized both from the point of view of the personnel regulations and the structure still on a Soviet model. That is, we take into account the number of beds and that, without taking into account the number of patients, the complexity cases, by the maneuvers that happen, that are given to the patient”, explained the minister.
