On social networks, users have published photos with current food prices. The pictures showed the menu of a typical tavern in Greece. Prices are not exaggerated, say many but not “of budget”as they once were.
For example, a portion of classic Greek salad (with tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, olives and feta cheese) costs 10 euros. A more sophisticated variant, with tuna, salt for 14 euros, writes Click! .Ro
For those who prefer a hot meal, a traditional muscle is 10 euros, and the tomatoes in tomato sauce reach 11 euros. Those who want fish or seafood should get out of your pockets more: the grilled octopus or smoked mackerel costs 16 euros. Frying potatoes are sold for 5.50 euros.
Dakos Cretan (dried bread with tomatoes and cheese) costs 10 euros. Taramosalate has the price of 5 euros. A pizza is sold with prices between 11 and 20 euros, pizza salami, for example, costs 11 euros, and Margarita for 20 euros. Carbonara pasta cost 10 euros portion. For a burger you have to get out of pockets 10 euros.

As for drinks, 500 ml beer is sold in most taverns at prices between 4 and 5 euros. The wine of the house is a popular choice, and for a carafe of 500 ml tourists pay between 4 and 10 euros.
As for alcohol without alcohol, a bottle of juice costs 3 euros, and a 500 ml flat water bottle is sold for about 1 euros. For one liter of plain water, the prices go up to 2-5 euros, depending on the place. Coffee, including Greek Frappe highly appreciated, has a price that varies between 2 and 5 euros.
The comments of the Romanian tourists are divided. Many say the prices are correct for the quality and portions offered. “At which portion of salad you receive here, you can feed two people. It is not like in Romania, where you are given a salad leaf with a cut tomato”comments on a user.
Others notice the discrepancy to previous years: “In 2019 we were taking two gyros and two beers with 10 euros. Now it is double. But cheaper than on the Romanian coast,” wrote a tourist.
Some users point out that price differences are large between taverns. “In the more isolated villages or on less commercial islands, you pay 6 euros on a full meal. In resorts, you give 20 without realizing it.”
