Indiggo twins in trouble with the law in the United States. The two artists were detained several times

Almost 25 years since the debut of the band Indiggo, a group that caused a sensation in the 2000s with the hit “I don’t care”, twins Gabriela and Mihaela Modorcea are in trouble with the law in the United States of America. The two US-based artists were detained several times by authorities in 2025 after allegedly being involved in incidents in Miami.

According to official documents cited by Romania TV, the accusations started from a 65-year-old woman, who complained of bodily injury. Later, the press revealed that the plaintiff is actually the twins’ mother, Violeta Modorcea.

Gabriela Modorcea was detained for the first time on April 6, 2025, for domestic violence, and on April 15 she was again in police custody, being accused of false identity.

Her sister, Mihaela Modorcea, faced even more serious problems. On April 15, 2025, she was detained for robbery, false identity and public disorder, and on May 10 she was again in the attention of the authorities, being detained for the second time.

In the case of Gabriela Modorcea, the situation ended quickly. Her mother did not want further criminal proceedings. The artist paid a bail of 1,000 dollars, and the case was closed on May 27, 2025.

Mihaela Modorcea, however, did not escape problems. With multiple charges, her case is still pending, and on October 5, 2025, probation was administered in the ongoing trial.

The band Indiggo, formed in the 2000s, experienced success in Romania and collaborated with famous composers such as Horia Moculescu and Mihai Alexandru. The sisters have also made international appearances, including on “America’s Got Talent” after moving to the US.
