After a debut that brought to Brașov more than 80 guests from 12 countries and more than 5,000 participants during the four days of events, NOD Festival returns in the last weekend of September with a new edition dedicated to the meeting between literature, theater and film under the umbrella of copyright.
Among the first confirmed guests are three of the most acclaimed voices in international contemporary literature: Jonathan Coe, Maja Lunde and Matt Haig, authors who have captivated millions of readers around the world and whose works have influenced both literature and the related creative industries.
“The success of the first edition quickly turned into a business card that attracted the attention and gained the trust of heavy names in the European literary world. Jonathan Coe returns to Romania after almost a decade in which he consolidated his reference position among the greatest contemporary writers. Maja Lunde’s presence will be a first not only for our country, but for the entire region and we are happy to be the first to host her in this part of the world. As for Matt Haig, his presence at NOD Festival shortly after the release of his latest blockbuster title is a joy not only for us, but for all the readers who love his books so much”, he declares Liviana Tane, founder of NOD Festival.
“After the first edition of NOD surpassed our most beautiful reveries and the feedback from guests, partners, the public coming from Brașov, from other areas of the country or even abroad was overwhelmingly enthusiastic, we got back to work with even more enthusiasm. Although the second edition will bring more international guests, a richer industry component and a greater thematic diversity, and the pressure of this responsibility exists, we are convinced that it will be another success. A festival comes down to people, and we know what a community has already formed around NOD. We can’t wait for the last weekend in September!” George Cornilă, chief editor Matca Literară, co-organizer of NOD Festival.
Organized by Reading is Cool and MATCA Literarà, NOD Festival is the dynamic meeting point of professionals in the literary field and artists in fields influenced by literature, be it theatre, film or music, with the culture-consuming public. The festival aims to go beyond the traditional format of a literary event and create connections between industries, ideas and communities.

Partners supporting the development of NOD Festival
The second edition of NOD – International Literary Rights Festival will take place between September 24-27, 2026, in Brașov, with the support of the main partners: AQUA Carpathia, Raiffeisen Bank Romania and Radisson Blu Aurum Brasov.
“There are few greater joys than seeing an idea grow. I was with NOD before it had a name, a date on the calendar or a place on the map, when it was just the conviction of a few people that literature deserves, and in Romania, a festival of its own. That conviction proved right, and for AQUA Carpatica it remains an honor to accompany a project that, year after year, connects writers, readers and stories in one knot.” – Valentina Vesler, Head of PR & Communication, AQUA Carpatica
This year, Raiffeisen Bank Romania joins NOD Festival as a main partner to help create a bridge between culture and its real value for each of us.
“We are happy to be part of NOD Festival, a project that brings literature closer to the public and creates a lively meeting space between book, theater, film and the creative industries. We believe in the power of these meetings to open perspectives, inspire and create connections between people, contributing to more open and connected communities” – Laura Mihăilă, Director of Marketing, Communication and Customer Experience, Raiffeisen Bank Romania
