The president of USR, Elena Lasconi, claimed, in a response to an appeal launched by the liberal Ilie Bolojan to the candidates for the presidential elections, that a single candidate is needed, accusing that Nicolae Ciucă refuses an agreement between the right-wing parties based on surveys.

“YES, I agree with what Ilie Bolojan says! What Mr. Bolojan is saying now, right in front of the head of the PNL, Nicolae Ciucă, I kept saying. Yes, if we want to stop the PSD top, a firm gesture is needed: single candidate from the right”Elena Lasconi wrote on Facebook on Sunday, November 17, claiming that PNL leader and candidate Nicolae Ciucă refused to conduct independent polls to determine who is best placed and to decide on a common candidate.
The statements of the head of the USR come in the context in which the president of the Bihor County Council, Ilie Bolojan, launched an appeal to Nicolae Ciucă, Mircea Geoană and Elena Lasconi to find a solution to “not fragment the votes for the modernization of Romania”.
The Liberal leader pointed out that “2000 is quite close and it won’t matter who will be third, fourth or fifth”, while also claiming that he hopes there will be a “understanding”, asking for a vote “rational and useful” for PNL candidate Nicolae Ciucă.
Elena Lasconi soon came with an answer, launching several arrows at her opponents in the presidential race.
“My dears, if you want us to live from now on in a country where the state respects its citizens, where Justice does justice, and the corrupt are sent to where they belong, a country without a PSD president, it depends on you! No matter how many calculations the parties make, the real power, on November 24, is with each of you. It is in the power of every vote to change Romania“, Elena Lasconi also transmitted.
The head of the USR is the first party president to propose the liberal Ilie Bolojan for the leadership of the future government. The leader of the CJ Bihor was also proposed by the head of the PNL, Nicolae Ciucă, but also by the resident PSD, Marcel Ciolacu.
