The National Health Insurance House (CNAS) published on Friday, January 9, the list of medical services benefiting, from January 1, 2026, people enrolled in the national health programs.
Insured patients have access to medical and related services, medicines, sanitary materials and medical devices granted within the national health programs (PNS), also benefiting from the entire package of basic services from the social health insurance system, according to CNAS.
The institution specifies that patients without income, but enrolled in the National Oncology Program, are considered insured persons and benefit, until the oncological condition is cured, both from the medicines and services provided for in the program, as well as from the entire package of basic services granted to insured persons.
Also, uninsured patients included in the National Program for the prevention, surveillance and control of HIV/AIDS infection and in the National Program for the prevention, surveillance and control of tuberculosis benefit from medical and related services, medicines, sanitary materials and medical devices specific to these programs, as well as from the entire package of basic services granted to insured persons.
In the case of the program dedicated to tuberculosis, these benefits are granted until the condition is cured.
“Uninsured patients enrolled in the other national health programs continue to benefit from the medical services, related services, medicines, sanitary materials, medical devices granted in the respective program(s), for the condition(s) they suffer from, from the services from the basic package that are the basis of their provision (consultations and hospitalizations), until the respective condition is cured, as well as from the services from the minimum package granted within the social health insurance system”, CNAS sent in a statement.
The representatives of the National Health Insurance House emphasize that the measures aim to ensure the continuity of treatments and fair access to medical services for all patients included in the national health programs, regardless of their insured status.
