The woman published pictures with her feet, to prove that the recipe presented by Meghan Markle is “dangerous” and should have been accompanied by a clear warning. The woman, who suffers from diabetes, says she followed the recipe in March and came to suffer 18 burns, writes the Daily Mail.
The problem was also reported by specialists quoted by Mailonline, who warned that such a combination of ingredients – if used incorrectly – can cause burns, especially since the recipe did not include accurate quantities, but only the vague indication that it would need “enough” salt.
The woman sent an official letter to the Netflix production team, to Archewell and to the Duchess, claiming that the bath with the salt caused physical and mental trauma and requires minimum damage of $ 75,000 for medical treatments, plus $ 10 million for what she calls “Serious negligence against public safety”.
The lawyers of the Duchess reacted, saying that the person should have known the risks of using Epsom salt in people with diabetes. “No negligence can be invoked by any of those involved in the production or distribution of the series”it is stated in their response.
The woman says she followed the recipe seen when Meghan was preparing the bath salt for a friend’s room-a make-up artist-and that she contained Epsom salt, pink Himalayan salt, arnica oil and lavender oil.
After entering the tub with hot water and staying for a few minutes, he started to feel an intense burn on his feet and buttocks. It immediately came out of the water, but the pain continued, and later ulcers appeared on the affected areas.
“I initially felt mild tingling, but without discomfort. As the water covered the legs and climbed to the buttocks, the burning sensation and severe discomfort began.”she told.
“I immediately came out of the bathtub, stopped the water and later mixed the contents of the bathroom with my hand and arm, to check the mixture. This also caused burning sensations.he said.
She states that the wounds have not yet completely cured and that the symptoms have worsened, defending new wounds. “The pain is constant and I feel as if I were burning inside.”he said, emphasizing that, with an autoimmune condition, a weakened immune system and extremely dry skin due to diabetes, the risks of infection or complications are serious.
The person in question says that she is willing to reach an amicable understanding, but the Duchess’s lawyer rejected the claims, stressing that the use of Epsom salt is contraindicated for diabetics without a doctor.
So far, Netflix and Duchess’s representatives did not offer an official comment.
