Paul Pintea, the senator who falsified his CV, was convicted for driving without a permit

Paul Ciprian Pintea, the Sălaj senator chosen on the lists of the Party of Young People (Pot), was convicted on Tuesday, June 17, by the High Court of Cassation and Justice (JCCJ) for driving a motor vehicle without being allowed.

He became known after mentioning in the CV that they are attending courses at Academic Singles, a dating site. Also, in the same CV, posted on the Parliament’s website, Pintea claimed that he finished high school, “with the baccalaureate diploma”, although it was found that it has only 11 classes.

He is one of the parliamentarians who were affiliated at the beginning of June to the PSD parliamentary group, after resigning.

The supreme court sentenced Paul Ciprian Pintea, on Tuesday, to 1 year and 5 months imprisonment, with suspension.

The senator received a nine -month prison sentence for committing the offense of driving a vehicle by a person to which the right to drive was suspended. The punishment was merged by the judges of the JCCJ with another sentence of one year and two months imprisonment for offenses on the road regime, applied in March 2024 by the Zalău Court, following the defendant to execute, finally, a sentence of 1 year and 5 months imprisonment.

Based on art. 91 C.pen. It orders the suspension of the execution of the sentence under supervision applied to the defendant for a term of supervision of 2 years, under the provisions of art. 92 C.pen., Which will flow from the date of the definitive stay of this decision”, It is shown in the solution of the JCCJ.

Also, during the term of supervision, the defendant could perform unpaid work for the benefit of the community, for a period of 60 days, within the Zalău City Hall or within the Zalău County Emergency Hospital.

The court decision is not final, and it can be appealed.

Paul Ciprian Pintea, 38, is a senator chosen on lists. He occupies the position of secretary of the Commission for Budget, Finance, Banking Activity and Capital Market and a member of the Commission for Transport and Infrastructure.
