“Today I was in the heaven of Apuseni Natural Park. I evaluated the situation of the purple carpet in Bălileasa. The wonderful Brândușe is just waiting to display their splendor at the first rays of heat. Ascending to the padis.wrote Christine Banciu, joining the images with the Poienile de Brânșei from Apuseni.
The young woman also arrived in Poiana Ponor, a closed depression (pole) in the Apuseni Natural Park, located in the Padiș tourist area. This, in the spring, is flooded by the waters resulting from the melting of snow and precipitation, forming a spectacular lake, bordered by mountains and forests.
“Further, in Poiana Ponor, unfortunately, the lake could not be formed due to poor rainfall, but I noticed that the brows are starting to show their splendor, still shy, and here. It will take at least two weeks so that a purple carpet will appear here,” adds Christine Banciu.
The surrounding forest, crossed by the Padiș tourist path, also offers a special view.
“Descending to Glăvoi, I saw something with the tail of the eye. I said to go a little in recognition. It was not a small surprise when I saw the karst fog rising on the coniferous forest.writes the author of the photos.
Apuseni Mountains, an ideal place for hiking
The Apuseni Mountains stretch on almost 20,000 square kilometers, covering the counties of Arad, Bihor, Cluj, Alba and Hunedoara. In the center of this land are the patriarchal settlements of the Moors – people of the mountain and the forest, which is said to be one of the oldest populations on the territory of Romania.

The lands in Apuseni are injured and less favorable to the agriculture and animal husbandry, on the other hand, the forests have always represented the great richness of the region. In the basement of the mountains, gold, silver, copper and other precious and rare metals make Apuseni the richest region in mineral resources in Romania.
The diversity of landscapes and the numerous natural monuments in the Apuseni Mountains have transformed them into a more popular tourist destination. The mountains are crossed by a dense network of roads, which slip along the valleys of rivers such as Arieș and Crișurii or climb the ridges where the Moors have built their isolated settlements.
One of the main “bus” of the mountains is the national road that crosses the area in the East – West direction, between Turda and Beiuș, then descending to the municipality of Brad and the Metaliferi Mountains.
Another access path in the heart of the Apusenilor is in the northern – south direction, starting from Huedin, continuing on the Arieș Valley to the Tra Moților, in Câmpeni and Abrud, then descending to Brad, in the Crișului Alb Valley, at the foot of Mount Vulcan, on the border between Hunedoara and Alba counties.
