PSD deputy Natalia Intotero said on Tuesday, June 23, that the first option for prime minister for the social democrats is Sorin Grindeanu. The announcement comes after the Government proposed by Adrian Veștea did not obtain the confidence vote of the Parliament.
“As always, PSD has taken responsibility for governance. We have several colleagues, of course, the first option is Mr. President Sorin Grindeanu (…).
It is the opinion of all colleagues, it is normal, he is the president of the party and it is normal to be the first option. At the moment we elected him as the president of the party, we have the greatest confidence in Mr. Sorin Grindeanu’s ability”, Intotero told RFI.
Natalia Intotero rejects the proposal of the PNL leader, Ilie Bolojan, regarding the support of a minority Government and the signing of a pact with short-term national objectives:
“In the short term? Well, when any minister arrives in an institution, he needs two months, at least, to understand the functioning of that institution. And then, what do you do? You put a Government in place for two months, so that afterwards you can change it? Well, do you see what vision of supporting the economy Mr. Bolojan has? Do you see why this man should go home and leave us alone?”.
Asked who could be part of a possible PSD Government, the deputy answered: “PSD and with all those who want to support this Government. If not, anticipate, we are not afraid of anticipation”.
To the filmmaker’s remark that in the event of early elections, AUR could easily win, Natalia Intotero stated: “He will win at the expense of all the other parties, who, due to an incomprehensible pride, have led Romania to this situation.”
Previously, Ludovic Orban said that the president of the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, cannot be appointed prime minister “under any circumstances” at the moment, but should be appointed immediately after the adoption of the no-confidence motion.
“Under no circumstances Grindeanu. Grindeanu should have been appointed immediately after the adoption of the censure motion. Now, it would be another serious mistake of Nicușor Dan if he gives a mandate to the PSD president.
Both the Tomac and Vestea governments were, in fact, PSD governments. And both failed. Tomac submitted his mandate and the Vestea government was rejected by the parliament. That is, PSD is the one that failed twice in the attempt to obtain a majority for two prime ministerial proposals assumed and supported only by PSD”claims the former prime minister.
