According to the minister, the report comes to complete and extend the analysis on the state of education, with concrete reform proposals based on data and good international practices.

What does the QX ratio contain and why is it relevant?

Almost 18 years after the report on the state of Romanian education in 2007, made by the Presidential Commission led by Professor Mircea Miclea, Minister of Education, Daniel David, prepares a new document with a detailed evaluation of the Romanian educational system.

The QX report offers an updated perspective, with an objective analysis of the situation in schools and universities, but also with concrete reform proposals, based on data and good international practices, according to the Minister of Education.

The report has two essential components:

  • a diagnosis of the current state of the educational and research system;
  • A set of proposals for future reforms, inspired by European and international experiences, but adapted to the Romanian reality.

The name “QX” comes from “Questions” (questions) and “X”, a symbol of the unknown of the future.

On May 27, the Ministry of Education, together with the OECD, will also present the country report on education in Romania, in an event that will take place at the Romanian Academy.

Special guest is Andreas Schleicher, the OECD director for education and competences, which will contribute to the alignment of the Romanian system to the good international practices.
