Several hospitals under the Ministry of Health have problems with providing heat. The most difficult situation is at the Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases CC Iliescu in the Capital.
The Minister of Health Alexandru Rogobete declared for News that in some areas of the hospital it is only 16 degrees Celsius.
At this institute, non-emergency surgical interventions have already been postponed, and admissions have been delayed depending on their urgency. At the Fundeni Clinical Institute, the situation is slowly returning to normal, says the minister who also affirmed that technical teams from the electricity distributor go with a certain consistency to the sanitary units with problems to monitor the consumption of the installations that are used to compensate for the lack of heat, so as not to reach an overload and implicitly a catastrophe.
“And yesterday we had a series of discussions with hospital managers, we are discussing the Fundeni Clinical Institute, the Oncology Institute, the CC Ililescu Institute, for cardiovascular diseases. Of course the situation has been monitored, we are trying to cover this lack with portable air conditioning or heating installations, radiators and so on, yesterday we had a meeting, a discussion at the Ministry of Health with my colleague, the Minister of Energy. Together we decided to send technical teams from the electricity distributor to these hospitals twice a day to check the installations to monitor the consumption and make sure that there is no an overload that then leads to a catastrophe.
Until now, the electrical indicators are in stable conditions, but we are sure to continue monitoring, late last night I spoke with the manager from the Fundeni Institute who told me that the heat has started to return, the situation is starting to improve, not yet at full capacity, but things are starting to return to normal. It is delicate, it is difficult because we are talking about critical patients, patients with various pathologies for which the temperature is essential in recovery”, explained the Minister of Health.
