Digitalization of administration in Romania
Romania included in the PNRR a chapter dedicated to digitalization (about 1.8 billion euros), with projects for the government cloud, interconnecting the databases and electronic services for citizens.
The government cloud, a project estimated at 500 million euros, is seen as a central pillar for the digitalization of the administration, but has encountered delays due to procurement procedures and institutional disputes.
According to data although (the index of the economy and digital society), Romania is among the latest EU states in the digitalization chapter, especially in terms of online public services and the digital skills of the population.
In recent years, platforms such as Ghișeul.ro, virtual private space (ANAF) or pilot applications for digitizing health and education services have been launched.
