The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, announced on Monday, December 22, that he has put into decisional transparency a Government Decision that creates the legal framework necessary for prevention to leave the declarative area and become applicable public policy.
“Today, we made transparent a Government Decision that creates the necessary legal framework for prevention to leave the declarative area and become an applicable public policy.
It is a natural continuation of the messages that we have constantly sent: prevention must reach people in time, not be invoked only when the disease is already established and the possibilities of intervention are limited”Rogobete announces on Facebook.
He explains that the National HIV/AIDS Prevention, Surveillance and Control Program introduces pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for uninfected people, but at risk of exposure.
“It is a preventive measure used at European level, with proven efficiency, which significantly reduces the risk of infection and allows intervention before the disease appears.
In mental health, we are creating the framework for early intervention. We provide access to rapid testing for the early identification of psychoactive substance use and introduce psychological assessment for children under 18. Problems can be identified in time, and medical care becomes preventive and future-oriented, not just reactive”adds the minister.
Through the same Decision, explains Alexandru Rogobete, three national public health programs with major long-term impact will be established.
New national health programs introduce organized screening for breast, cervical and colorectal cancer, enabling early detection and more effective treatments. Neonatal screening ensures early diagnosis of serious diseases in newborns, before symptoms appear.
The palliative care program extends services to patients with serious illnesses, including at home and through mobile teams, for continuous care tailored to their needs.
“Decision-making transparency is a working tool, not a simple formality. We are waiting for observations, proposals and contributions to support the construction of functional programs adapted to our realities. Trust is built through actions. And prevention is one of the most responsible forms of caring for people”, declares the Minister of Health.
