The Ministry of Education and Research (MEC) announced on Friday, April 3, that it has extended until April 9 the period in which the results of the simulation of the national Baccalaureate exam 2026 will be communicated. The decision was taken following the assessment of the pace of correction and the very large number of papers.

The test simulation took place between March 23-26, in all high schools where final classes are organized, and the data collected following the tests began to be centralized during the week.

In this context, the Ministry of Education announced that the technical and logistical process requires a large effort at the national level and that the initial deadline, April 3, cannot be met.

“In a shorter period allocated to the evaluation of papers than in 2025, 763,750 evaluations were carried out, approximately 11% more than during the simulations of the written tests of the national baccalaureate exam in 2025 (when a total of 688,808 evaluations were carried out). Thus, at 1:30 p.m., 96.88% of the papers were evaluated. The results were communicated to county school inspectorates/Bucharest City School Inspectorate until 2 p.m., and the summary of the recorded results is presented in the first link in the comments section.

Considering the number of works to be evaluated compared to the period previously established for evaluation and the status of the evaluation today, April 3, the Ministry of Education and Research decided to extend the period for communicating the results until April 9. In the year 2025, the date of communication of the results was April 8″, Minister Mihai Dimian announced on Facebook.

The simulation of the Baccalaureate exam was organized in 1,364 educational units, with a higher number of participants than in 2025, as follows:

* Romanian language and literature: over 114,600 students (over 101,000 in 2025);

* Compulsory profile test: over 113,100 students (over 99,900 in 2025);

* Optional test: over 111,100 students (over 98,300 in 2025);

* Mother tongue: over 6,100 students (over 5,500 in 2025).

Data on the assessment of works

According to the MEC, until the transmission of the communication announcing the postponement of the deadline for April 9, 763,750 evaluations were carried out, approximately 11% more than in 2025, when in a similar context 688,808 evaluations were recorded.

We remind you that a work benefits from a minimum of two evaluations, which can reach four when the difference between the two correctors exceeds one point.

At the time of data extraction from the evaluation platform (Friday, April 3, 1:30 p.m.), 96.88% of the papers were already evaluated, and the results were sent to school inspectorates by 2:00 p.m.

The process of uploading and scanning papers was managed by more than 15,000 assistant professors, while the actual evaluation was carried out by approximately 11,000 professors. The ministry specifies that the digital platform has been constantly functioning “within optimal parameters” for the entire duration.

The situation of the test results

The platform’s statistical reports show the following provisional situation until Friday:

* Compulsory profile test (mathematics/history): 111,800 evaluated papers (98.87% of the total); grades ≥ 5: 64.36% (63.28% in 2025).

* Sample of choice of profile and specialization: 105,093 papers evaluated (94.64% of the total); grades ≥ 5: 73% (69.46% in 2025).

* Mother tongue: 5,829 works evaluated (94.58% of the total); grades ≥ 5: 86.46% (82.5% in 2025).

“The results are in the process of being transmitted from the level of school inspectorates to each educational unit in the form of catalogs with final marks”,
the MEC also specifies.

The Ministry reminds that the students’ works remain in the units where the tests were held, and specialized teachers have access to them for consultation.

Also, the school administrations will make the official evaluation slips available to the teaching staff to allow the students to see how their work has been graded.
