Video Princess Kate turned 44. “Nature helped me heal”

Britain’s Princess Kate said she spent the winter thinking she was “deeply grateful” on her 44th birthday.

In the latest episode of Kensington Palace’s ‘Mother Nature’ video series, Kate said the cold season has a way of bringing “calm, patience and silent meditation”

The princess launched the video series last spring as a celebration of the changing seasons across the UK.

In a video posted on social media on her 44th birthday, Kate says: “Even in the coldest and darkest season, winter has a way of bringing us calm, patience and silent meditation.”

“Where the stream slows down enough that we can see our own reflection”.

“To discover the deepest parts of ourselves again. Along with the whispers in the pulse of every living being”the princess also wrote.

“I find myself reflecting on how grateful I am. For the rivers to flow in peace again, for the fears to be washed away, cleansed and purified. Make peace with your tears and discover what it means to be alive“, continued the princess, writes Agerpres.

“Being one with nature; a silent teacher and a gentle voice that guides us. In remembrance. Helps us heal”she also said.

The princess’s birthday, Friday, January 9, falls just days before the first anniversary of her announcement in early 2025 that she would go into remission after being diagnosed with cancer.

In the video released on Friday, Kate, dressed in a long green coat, as well as a hat and scarf, walks around Berkshire County.

The recording is accompanied by a message in which the princess says: “The Mother Nature series was a deeply personal and creative reflection on how nature helped me heal. But it’s also a story about the power of nature and creativity in collective healing.”

“We can learn so much from nature as we try to build a happier and healthier world.”

The recording features footage from Cumbria, Gloucestershire, London, East Sussex and The Cotswolds.

The post came a day after Kate made a surprise appearance at Charing Cross Hospital to show her support for NHS staff working under pressure.

The Prince and Princess of Wales surprised NHS volunteers and staff during a tea break on Thursday for the royal couple’s first public engagement in 2026.
