“I say this because I was doubtful because of that little health “hiccup” I mentioned. It happened about a week ago and it was called a minor stroke”, added Brian May, who continued: “All of a sudden, out of the blue, I had no control over this hand (shows left hand n. ed.) It was a little scary“.
The We Will Rock You writer revealed the incident left him temporarily unable to use his left arm – but he had a “very exciting” ambulance ride to Surrey’s Frimley Hospital.
“The good news is that I’m fine. I just do what I’m told, which means basically nothing. I’m not allowed to go out – well, I’m not allowed to drive, I’m not allowed to get on a plane, I’m not allowed to get my heart rate up too much… but I’m fine.”
Brian May suffered a heart attack in 2020
The legendary Queen guitarist has had his share of scares after surviving a heart attack in 2020. He was recovering from a torn muscle and blocked nerve – the result of a gardening injury – when he felt a sudden onset of pain in the chest. Sir Brian notified his doctor, who took him to hospital himself, where the guitarist discovered he had a number of blocked arteries.
The rocker was seen in public just days ago promoting a documentary about badger tuberculosis. He was also photographed recently discussing the documentary at a wildlife center in Surrey.
