What subjects are taught at the Baccalaureate in 2026. Where can the syllabus be consulted

The national Baccalaureate exam will begin at the beginning of June, with the assessment of language and digital skills. However, the real emotions for the 12th grade graduates will begin on June 29, with the written tests. As every year, the Romanian Language and Literature test will be the first.

List of exams for the Baccalaureate 2026. What the calendar looks like

Candidates will be able to register for the exam between June 2 and 4. Moreover, June 4 is also the date when the courses for them end. Then the practical tests begin, which are mandatory, but do not contribute to the final average. Moreover, students do not receive grades, but qualifications (Beginner, Medium, Advanced or Experienced), and the only condition to pass these tests is to present them.

  • June 8-10, 2026 – Assessment of oral communication skills in Romanian – test A
  • June 10-11, 2026 – Assessment of oral communication skills in the mother tongue – test B
  • 11-12 June 2026 – Assessment of language skills in a language of international circulation — test C
  • 15-17 June 2026 – Digital skills assessment – test D

Written tests begin on June 29.

  • June 29, 2026 – Romanian language and literature — test Ea) — written test
  • June 30, 2026 – Compulsory profile test — Ec test) — written test
  • July 2, 2026 – Test of choice of profile and specialization — Ed test) — written test

For students from the Humanist Profile, majoring in Social Sciences or Philology

  • Compulsory test: History
  • Optional exam: Geography, Logic and Argumentation, Psychology, Sociology, Economics, Philosophy

For students from the Humanist Profile, the Mathematics – Computer Science or Natural Sciences specialization

  • Compulsory test: Mathematics
  • Test of your choice: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science

For students from the Technological Branch

  • Compulsory test: Mathematics
  • Test of your choice: Geography, Logic and reasoning, Psychology, Economics (Services profile), Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Natural Resources and Environmental Protection profile and Technical profile)

For students from the Vocational Stream

  • Compulsory test: History
  • Test of your choice: Geography, Logic and argumentation, Psychology, Economics, Philosophy (regardless of the profile)

Mathematics

Specific skills:

  • Identifying, in everyday language or in math problems, certain notions specific to mathematical logic and set theory
  • Using the properties of algebraic operations of numbers, estimates and approximations in various contexts
  • Choosing the form of representation of a real number and using some algorithms to optimize calculations with real numbers
  • Deducing results and verifying them using mathematical induction or other logical reasoning
  • Writing the solution of a problem, correlating the usual language with that of mathematical logic and set theory
  • Transposing a problem-situation into mathematical language, solving the obtained problem and interpreting the result

This year’s changes

This year the skills assessment tests will be held again in the summer. Last year, high school graduates gave them in the winter, between January 27 and February 7. The tests were moved during that period so that students could take the written exams in the first part of June and not be affected by the heat.
