In order for Romanians to be able to apply for travel authorization in the United States, Americans must modify the ESTA program (Electronic Travel Authorization System).
“There will be a need for an electronic authorization in the ESTA system that will be technically accommodated by March“, explained Emil Hurezeanu.
Until then, Romanians will travel to the US with a travel authorization to extend the visas they have already obtained.
“From March, with the technical accommodation of the ESTA system, they will only need electronic prior authorization at no cost before entering the US”said the Foreign Minister.
