This year, Heidi chose to transform into an iconic mythological character: Medusa. The costume was created in collaboration with prosthetic makeup designer Mike Marino, known for Colin Farrell’s look as The Penguin.
The costume was particularly inspired by the version of Medusa from Clash of the Titans (1981). Heidi retained the character’s distinctive bow and arrows, as well as a snake tail instead of legs, in contrast to traditional depictions of the myth. Beside her, her husband Tom Kaulitz, 36, disguised himself as one of Perseus’ friends, who turns to stone at the sight of Medusa.

Heidi came to the lavish Halloween party for the 24th time, being accompanied by her children: Leni, 21, Henry, 20, Johan, 18, and Lou, 16. Tom was joined by his twin brother Bill Kaulitz, a colleague in the band Tokio Hotel.
Impressive details
The costume faithfully recreates the work of Ray Harryhausen, the master of stop-motion animation who created Medusa for Clash of the Titans. From the shiny scales to the details of the face and segments of the snake’s tail, every element has been crafted with remarkable attention. Heidi also added elements of her own, such as the snake hair and the snake bow.

On the red carpet, Tom struck various poses to suggest his character had been turned to stone, while Heidi, as Medusa, stuck out her forked tongue and flashed a triumphant smile.
“HAPPY HEIDIWEEN”wrote the star on Instagram, presenting the costume to fans. “Don’t look too hard or you’ll turn to stone“.
A spectacular tradition
Heidi Klum is known for her extravagant outfits and attention to detail. Last year she and Tom were different versions of ET in “ET the Extraterrestrial,” and another year she transformed into a peacock, aided by nine acrobats for feathers and claws.

The star started the tradition in 2000, when she appeared in a skin-tight black leather suit, and since then she has experimented with various characters, from Fiona from “Shrek” and man-eating aliens to Cleopatra, Jessica Rabbit or Hindu mythology.
Heidi also confessed to difficult times, such as when, nine months pregnant, she was “the forbidden fruit” in the Garden of Eden. “I was so big I couldn’t fit in a car so I had to get a convertible at the last minute to get to the party“, she recounted. “I couldn’t drink water because my arms couldn’t reach my face, nor could I sit down. It wasn’t much fun – I didn’t fully think it through!“
