President Nicușor Dan made statements on Tuesday after the Summit of EU States on the Eastern Flank and also referred to what happened to the simple motion against Minister Diana Buzoianu.
The head of state was asked on Tuesday how he thinks the governing coalition will be able to function after the PSD voted the simple motion against USR minister Diana Buzoianu.
“It is very difficult to explain to a foreigner that we have four parties in the coalition and they all attack each other and none says a word about the opposition. It is very difficult for me to understand. I do not think it is useful for a party to vote a motion against a minister from another party who is a member of the coalition.
For the moment, this coalition works and gives a signal to partners in the area of security and economy, that they have someone to talk to in Romania. Obviously, as a citizen I would like to hear less background noise, but all in all we are moving forward”, Nicusor Dan said.
The simple motion initiated by AUR entitled “Prahova under siege. Over 100,000 Romanians condemned to thirst and disease under the complicit gaze of the Minister of the Environment, Diana Buzoianu” passed in the Senate, 74 votes “for”.
The motion passed with the support of the PSD MPs, who voted for it.
Sorin Grindeanu, the PSD leader, justified on Tuesday, December 16, the social democrats’ Monday vote for the simple motion against the USR Minister of the Environment, Diana Buzoianu, despite the political agreement concluded by the governing parties.
“In the Senate, yesterday, there was a vote against the catastrophic management of the minister, and the fact that we are part of a coalition does not make us to be children put in a corner, and every time there is bad management, we are not confused by certain things and we will report these slippages in time. That’s all as long as there are still people from three counties without water and no one answers, you know that they are part or not, or PSD is part or not of a coalition, first of all, we have to answer to those people beyond certain papers. Yes, we fined this catastrophic management yesterday“, declared Sorin Grindeanu.
