Rogobete also spoke about the medical community, which he considers essential for the functioning of the system, insisting on the responsibility that this profession entails, but he also highlighted the difference in involvement between doctors.

“I stood in front of a room full of professionals who take medicine in Romania forward, day by day. It is not just a professional community, but one of the resistance structures of the health system. Medicine is not just a profession. It is a choice that comes with responsibility, pressure and, often, with invisible sacrifices. We talked about the difference between being a doctor in Romania and being a doctor for Romania. The second option means more: involvement, courage and assuming change.”, it is shown in the post of the Minister of Health, on Facebook.

Regarding the reforms, Alexandru Rogobete showed that changes are underway, but people remain central: “The health system is changing. We have investment, infrastructure, digitization and resources more clearly than in the past. But without people, all this means nothing.”

He also pointed out the need for high standards.

A system becomes better when it has standards and people who do not accept compromise. Trust keeps this system going. It is not required. It is built, through facts and correct decisions”, he emphasized.

At the same time, he emphasized the doctor-patient relationship. At the end, Rogobete said that his role is to support the medical profession.

“I don’t believe in a medicine where the patient has to choose between competence and empathy. Real medicine requires both. My role is clear: to support the medical profession, high standards and a system that no longer accepts half measures.” concluded the minister.
