The manelist Adi from Vâlcea is among the victims of a network accused of bringing luxury cars to Romania with false documents from Spain. The artist was left without the Land Rover bought in 2021, but also without a Chevrolet Corvette offered in exchange and the difference of 10,000 euros.
According to the indictment, the artist bought a Land Rover Defender First Edition in 2021, after offering a Chevrolet Corvette C7 in exchange and paying a difference of 10,000 euros. At the time of the transaction, he was assured that all the car’s documents were in order, according to RomâniaTV.
Soon, however, it was discovered that the car was part of a criminal scheme, and Adi de la Vâlcea was left without both the new car and the Corvette and the additional amount paid.
Investigators claim that one of the defendants presented the artist with an invoice in Spanish that falsely certified that the car had been legally purchased in Spain for the sum of 54,450 euros.
According to the prosecutors, the members of the group knew that the documents were forged, but they used them to register the vehicle in Romania. Following these documents, the authorities issued a registration certificate in the name of a fictitious owner.
Network with connections in Spain
According to the investigators, the group was coordinated by three brothers and its main activity was the introduction into Romania of luxury cars stolen or obtained illegally from Spain.
The cars were later sold to buyers who did not know their provenance, using forged documents to create the appearance of legitimate transactions.
In the case, prosecutors have identified nine luxury cars that they claim were brought into the country by this method, and members of the network have been prosecuted for their alleged wrongdoings.
In 2021, Adi de la Vâlcea declared himself excited about the new purchase and presented the Land Rover to his fans on social networks, saying that he had given up the Corvette for a model he described as “made by an alien”. Years later, the artist would learn that he had become one of the victims of an alleged network specializing in the sale of luxury cars with fake documents.
