Journalist Cristian Tudor Popescu launched harsh criticisms of PSD and President Nicușor Dan, in the context of tensions in the governing coalition and disputes regarding the support of Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan. “Those who voted for N. Dan in the 1st round of elections did not want comradeship with the PSD,” he said.
In its analysis, CTP conveyed that PSD has an ideological continuity regardless of name changes. “Now, PSD is GOLD. In fact, it has always been. President Dan spends a lot of hypocrisy to say that he wants the continuation of the “Coalition of 4 pro-Western parties”. PSD, under all its logos throughout time, was and is an anti-Western party.”
The journalist criticizes the way in which, in his opinion, the internal mentality in the PSD works, comparing it to political reflexes from the communist period.
“The PSED members, from the last paying member to the president of the party, have well embedded in their conscious and subconscious the feeling that the PSD is the state party, just as the PCR was, the Romanian Ceauşist Party”, Grindeanu said.
At the same time, Cristian Tudor Popescu mocked the meetings of the social democrats and the way they would perceive Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan. “After 1989, when foreigners got mixed up in the country, there had to be formal parties, but “we are still there”. The mutual masturbation of 5,000 pesedists in a festive setting was dedicated to the “revival” of this feeling (…) in which Bolojan was the “scumbag” sent to the Canal or to prison in the 50s”, stated CTP.
Criticism also continues in the area of foreign policy, where the journalist warns of the consequences of possible political instability.
“PSD is not bothered by pushing the country into political-social chaos, into an economic-financial abyss, which can spoil the fate of Orban’s Hungary – the cutting of European funds, the isolation, the status of the black sheep of the EU. A bankrupt Romania, but controlled by the PSD, is really very good. (…) Grindeanu’s speech is particularly pleasing to the Kremlin; Bulgaria has just been taken under Putin’s control by the re-election of Rumen Radev and his anti-European and pro-Russian party.” wrote CTP.
Controversies surrounding Nicușor Dan
The journalist does not bypass the president Nicușor Dan either, whom he accuses of lack of firmness in relation to the current political crisis.
“And, under these conditions, N. Dan continues to gargle his role as a “mediator”… It’s hard to watch the “rat-like” way, from corner to corner, in which N. Dan avoids answering the insistent question: “Do you support Ilie Bolojan?”, the journalist also said.
At the end of the post, Cristian Tudor Popescu added that some of the voters of President Nicușor Dan would have had other political expectations.
“Those who voted for N. Dan in the 1st round of elections did not want comradeship with PSD, because otherwise they would have voted for Antonescu. Many of Dan’s voters also chose him because he announced that he would appoint Ilie Bolojan as prime minister”. CTP said.
We remind you that PSD voted, on Monday evening, to withdraw political support for Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan. The 5,000 PSD members voted online, through an application. 97.7% of the votes were registered in favor of the withdrawal of political support and 2.3% voted against.
