Dragoș Pîslaru claims that the interim period of the Bolojan Government could be longer than expected

The interim period could be longer than thought, it could last at least until June or even longer, declared on Saturday, May 9, the interim Minister of Investments and European Projects, Dragoş Pîslaru.

“The conclusions regarding the wisdom of the political class to find a solution and, especially, in the area of those who triggered it, to be very explicit, the PSD, to come up with a solution, because you provoke something, tear something down, you have to have an idea of what you put in place… But I think that these things must settle down, be distilled in the next period. But what I think is important is that we will have a longer interim period than is thought. And that’s why I said earlier that it could last at least until June and even longer than that, this period when the parties are trying to find a solution, and then it is very important that the country moves forward, to move forward with the things we need, especially, as far as I’m concerned, getting the European money that we need so much”. said Dragoş Pîslaru, News writes.

He emphasized, at the same time, that Ilie Bolojan won public support, including from some citizens who no longer followed politics or were disappointed by the political class.

“What I can tell you is that I participated in the meeting where the PNL resolution to go into opposition was adopted; it was voted with 50 votes out of 54. It seemed to me that there was nothing clearer than that; even the voices that were against during the discussion had nothing to say at the end. What I believe is that there is unity in the National Liberal Party, behind Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan. We will also see polls public, I understand that there are a lot of surveys circulating on sources, but I think we will see very clearly that Ilie Bolojan may have lost a government, but he won an entire country, a support of many people who otherwise might not have followed politics for a long time or were disappointed by the political class”said Dragoş Pîslaru, when asked if the PNL will split in two.

In his opinion, it was tried “beheading” to the PNL president because some important reforms have started to be made in society.

“In the Government, things were working, in the Coalition there were agreements, immediately in the evening things seemed to be out of control. It was, obviously, an attempt to decapitate the president of the National Liberal Party, because some important reforms began to be made in society, together with other colleagues in the Government, and I think it is obvious the reason why the Social Democratic Party triggered this crisis. It has nothing to do with the personality of Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, it is related, if you want, with his lordship’s stubbornness to make some important reforms and to turn on the light. This is what I said again: the moment you are used to being able to have state capture, to be able to have, discretionary, which means the distribution of resources in the territory, and someone comes and turns off these taps and affects your policies, obviously anger. This, in fact, led to the dismissal and the problem is not with Ilie Bolojan as a personality, but with Ilie Bolojan as a man who turned on the light and wanted to reform the state”declared Dragoş Pîslaru.

He believes that a minority government will be a complicated solution, due to the fact that it is difficult to have a reform agenda supported by a minority government.

“I saw many discussions on this topic – and I was surprised – including in the hallways, if I sign up, I don’t sign up, when I sign up; I will certainly communicate to you at the appropriate time. What I stated is that I support Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, because I believe that what is happening now is a popular wave of support for the reform agenda that has been postponed for a long time. I think that at this moment it is very important that there is a coagulation, no necessarily doctrinalas much as to make light in Romania. This is the important agenda: let’s see how we can spend public money better, how we can make the reforms that allow us to draw European money, how we can push Romania towards a fair and honest European agenda and not just pretend that we are doing this”said Dragoş Pîslaru, when asked if he joined the PNL.
