Over 30% of Romanians say they have a lot or a lot of trust in Călin Georgescu, and 32% say they would vote with AUR in the parliamentary elections, according to a survey published by CURS on Thursday, May 14.
Asked who they would vote with next Sunday if there were parliamentary elections, 32% said they would vote with AUR, 24% with PSD, 20% with PNL and 10% with USR.
Also, 5% declared that they would vote with UDMR, 4% with PNRR-Piedone, 3% with SOS Romania and 2% with another party.
Asked how much they trust several political figures, most respondents said they have a lot or a lot of trust in former presidential candidate Călin Georgescu (32%), followed by President Nicușor Dan (31%) and Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan (25%).
AUR leader George Simion has a trust level of 23%, and former president Traian Băsescu, Cristian Popescu Piedone, former mayor of Sector 5, and Sorin Grindeanu, PSD president, have 21% each.
At the bottom of the ranking are USR president Dominic Fritz (9%), SOS leader Diana Șoșoacă (10%) and UDMR leader Kelemen Hunor (12%).
The survey was conducted on a probabilistic, multistage and stratified sample, consisting of 1,664 respondents aged 18 and over, representative of the adult resident population in Romania. Data were collected through face-to-face interviews, at respondents’ homes, between May 1–14, 2026.
The maximum margin of error is ±2.4% at a 95% confidence level. The sample was validated based on the most recent INS data, and the results were weighted according to the age of the electorate.
An INSCOP poll published last month showed that George Simion is in first place in the ranking of Romanians’ trust, with 34.3%, followed by Nicușor Dan, with 27.6%, and Ilie Bolojan, with 25.1%, while Sorin Grindeanu is at 12%.
