SOURCES Bolojan makes trouble in PSD. Don’t dismiss all the prefects to fuel rumors of treason

Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan is also playing a psychological game with Sorin Grindeanu: he will leave some of the prefects and state secretaries appointed by the PSD out of office, political sources claim for Adevărul. The reason: the PSD leadership is afraid that not all the party will vote for the censure motion against the government. And the fact that Bolojan keeps in power a few social democrats elected on the spur of the moment fuels the rumors of betrayal from the PSD.

Each secretary of state or prefect was propelled into office by a party branch. And each parliamentarian also belongs to a county branch. If he keeps the secretary of state supported by Dâmbovița county, for example, Ilie Bolojan will negotiate more easily with the PSD MPs elected in Dâmbovița. Basically, the prime minister opens a door to negotiations with the PSD county leaders, who control both the parliamentarians and the secretaries of state or prefectures. In addition, Ilie Bolojan makes trouble in the PSD. Social Democratic leaders are already wondering if they have traitors within, as some dignitaries are dismissed and others remain in office.

PSD leaders from the territory assured Sorin Grindeanu that there are no PSD senators or deputies who would change sides, political sources claim for Adevărul. However, a PSD deputy elected in Buzău county, Petre Neagu, switched to PNL the other day. But this is seen as an exception, given that he is in conflict with the local leaders of the party, including Marcel Ciolacu.

The PNL leadership decided to negotiate on all fronts with the sovereignist parliamentarians to save Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan. The operation is led in the Parliament by the leader of the PNL senators, Daniel Fenechiu. And Dan Motreanu, the general secretary of the party, is also negotiating in Bucharest and in Brussels, with the AUR and SOS elected members of the European Parliament, claim political sources for Adevărul. So far, the Liberals have managed to win 10 POT MPs over to their side.

Political tensions in Romania have increased

The political crisis intensified after the PSD officially withdrew its support for the current Executive, a decision that led to the departure of some members of the Government and opened a new stage of political instability.

The political discussions focus on possible scenarios for the reconfiguration of the parliamentary majority or on the possible involvement of political forces so far outside the government.

The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, announced on Saturday that he signed the resignations of the social-democratic ministers and the proposals for interim ministers submitted by the Government.

The president also stated that he would continue to exercise his role as a mediator and announced the convening of political talks early next week.

We remind you that the PSD ministers resigned from the Government led by Ilie Bolojan on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. PSD held six portfolios in the Government: Transport – Ciprian Șerban, Agriculture – Florin Barbu, Energy – Bogdan Ivan, Health – Alexandru Rogobete, Justice – Radu Marinescu and Labor – Florin Manole. Later, the Secretary General of the Government, Radu Oprea, announced that he had also signed his resignation.
