A small town in Tuscany is launching a unique program to attract new residents, different from the well-known offer of houses for one euro. Local authorities offer substantial financial incentives: home buyers can receive up to €20,000 and tenants get half their rent paid for two years if they move out quickly.

Do you wish you could move to Tuscany to walk green hills, sip red wine and eat your fill of pasta? Well, now you can, as a small Tuscan town is offering big bucks to those who move there.
Radicondoli, a hilltop town, offers incentives to potential residents to attract new tenants and buyers with the goal of securing long-term residents. This initiative is different from the well-known Italian offer with houses for one euro, writes dailymail.
According to the quoted source, the initiative is part of a larger plan to revitalize the community, where numerous houses and apartments are available for sale or rent.
“The housing scheme, initially launched two years ago, is now being strengthened. We have allocated more than €400,000 this year to support the purchase and rental of new homes, alongside other key measures such as financial help for students, commuters and green energy subscribers.” said the mayor Francesco Guarguaglini.
Housing prices start at around 50,000 euros for smaller units and reach 100,000 euros or more for larger ones. With the bonus offered by the town hall, a small apartment can be purchased for only 30,000 euros. For rent, homes that would normally cost €400 per month will be available at half the price.
But there are conditions: buyers must commit to staying in the community for at least 10 years, and renters for a minimum of four years.
The mayor emphasizes that the goal is to revitalize the area.
“The goal is to provide opportunities to improve the quality of life, stimulate economic and residential development, and invite new friends to join the community, with a special focus on young people.” said the mayor.
The small town retains the medieval charm of Tuscany, with cobblestone streets, historic buildings, and hiking and biking trails.
It is about an hour from Florence and close to Siena, making it an attractive destination for those looking for a quiet life in the middle of nature, but close to cultural centers.
